Vlasta Ilišin (1954) earned her graduate, masters and doctoral degree from the Faculty of Political Sciences at the University of Zagreb. She has been working at the Institute for Social Research since 1986, where she also was the director (2007-2011), and currently she is at a position of a Scientific Counsellor. From 1992 to 2005 she taught at the undergraduate study at the Faculty of Kinesiology, from 2006 to 2010 at the Faculty of Political Sciences (where she was elected to a position of a Full Professor), and she also took part in a postgraduate study at several Faculties at the University of Zagreb. She is engaged in researches of youth, values, leisure time, media, political elite and the European integration. She published 12 books and numerous scientific works in the journals and proceedings. She was a member of the Editorial Board of the journal Rural Sociology (2005-2007), and currently she is a member of the Editorial Board of the journal Croatian Political Science (since 2005) and of the Advisory Board of the journal Sociology and Space (since 2008) and of the Edition Science and Society (since 2004).
